Adams to be featured in gallery showing

TEXARKANA – Hope High School art teacher Kendrick Adams will be the featured artist in a showing of his works at The Gallery, in Texarkana, July 20.

Utilizing multiple mediums including acrylic, watercolor, photography, and indelible markers, Adams has created a body of works from his home and teaching life.

“I teach all of these media, and more to my students,” he said. “During classes, I create demonstration art for my students to understand how to use the media.”

The showing will feature multiple works by Adams including his acrylic “Daughter, Daddy Dance,” which is a slice of life portrait of a young girl dressed for her first daughter-daddy outing in vivid colors against a soft, textured setting.

“When not in school, I create more mature work, both to keep in training, and for personal pleasure and sale,” Adams said.

A reception will open the showing on July 20 from 2-4 p.m. at The Gallery in downtown Texarkana at Front and Olive streets.

The exhibition showing will continue through the month of August from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
