Leadership crew learns about local government

PRESCOTT – Leadership Nevada County held its Local Government session on July 1th. The morning started off at the Nevada County Courthouse and a visit with Nevada County Judge Mark Glass and donuts. The class then visited with the County Tax Assessor’s office, County Clerk’s office, County Treasurers office, and the Tax collector’s office. Melinda Boyer with Congressman Bruce Westerman’s office came and spoke to the group also. The class then went to Emmet to visit with Mayor Dale Booker and toured the library, fire training facility and also the storm shelter. The class had lunch with Rosston’s Mayor Samuel Quarles at a local restaurant called Barr’s Junction. Then the class traveled to Bodcaw and met with Mayor Kimberly Hernandez and other city personnel. We finished out the day back in Prescott visiting with Mayor Terry Oliver.
