HOPE – A two-day orientation for incoming Hope High School freshmen will include a “get to know you” trip to Little Rock.
Freshmen students are to report to the HHS campus July 30 for initial orientation, sponsor Tisha Hunter said.
The 8 a.m. to noon session will begin with a free breakfast in the HHS cafeteria.
Day 1 on July 30 will include meeting HHS staff and teachers; introduction to HHS student organizations, extra-curricular activities, and athletics; production of student ID; and, explanations of health services provided by the new HHS School-Based Health Clinic on campus.
Day 2 on July 31 will be a “get to know you” day featuring a trip to the Arkansas Outdoor School in Little Rock. Students will depart the campus for Little Rock at 8 a.m. and return by 3:30 p.m., Hunter said.
“This is an opportunity to get to know our students outside the classroom,” she said.
Activities will include archery, canoeing, rock climbing, and orienteering.
“Permission forms and waivers must be signed prior to the trip,” Hunter said. “All Little Rock trip expenses and lunch will be provided at no cost.”
Students should have received a letter with complete information at their home mailing address on file with the school district.
Incoming freshmen who have not received a trip letter should contact Hunter at tisha.hunter@hpsdistrict.org online, or call the HHS main office at 870-777-3451 during regular office hours.
