HOPE – The cast is set for the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council’s STAR Academy theater workshop production of an original play “Trouble Blooms at the Ruby Rose Ranch.”

The play, written and directed by Dallas-based Artist in Education writer, Chris Espinoza (top photo, center rear), the old-fashioned melodrama features heroes and villains and a Rose Festival and audience participation at every turn.

Thirty-one area actors, ages 6-15, will hit their mark at 6 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Hempstead Hall on the UAHT campus.

Admission is free; donations to support children’s art in the region will be gratefully accepted.

A reception in the Hempstead Hall lobby will follow the performance. Handmade commemorative Christmas ornaments by cast members will be on sale to raise money for youth art activities.
