PRESCOTT – While it’s the middle of August, it’s not too soon to be thinking about the 2019 Nevada County Fair and the annual fair pageants.

The deadline to enter any of the pageants is Sept. 6. The pageants are open to girls from birth to 23-years-old.

The pageants will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Potlatch Building. The first group will take the stage at 10 a.m. This will include: Infant Miss – 0-11 months; Baby Miss – 12-23 months; Tiny Miss, two to three years old; and Little Miss – four to five years old.

Junior and Miss contestants will be interviewed at 2:30 p.m., with their pageants set to begin at 5 p.m. The evening pageants will start with Petite Miss – six and seven year olds; followed by Young Miss, eight and nine year olds; Debutante Miss, those from 10-13; Junior Miss, 14-17; and the Miss contestants, 18-23.

Following state fair pageant rules, the infant, baby, tiny, little, petite, young and debutante groups will only compete in beauty and only on stage. Junior Miss hopefuls will compete in beauty and sportswear on stage, along with the private interview. Miss contestants will compete in beauty and swimsuit on stage along with the private interviews.

All ages will compete in photogenic, best dressed and most beautiful. Contestants in the photogenic competition must provide an 8×10 photo for judging.
