Fair parade set
PRESCOTT – Dignitaries in the 2019 Nevada County Fair Parade will be lining up at the intersection of E. Olive between East Fourth and Fifth streets. The parade will kick off at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The rest of the participants will line up on E. Olive between Third and Fourth streets, with the football players and cheerleaders lining up on E. 5th. Antique cars, engines and others will line up on E. 6th. Floats should be there and ready by 5:15 p.m.
All youth floats will be in one category, with prizes ranging from $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Community floats have the same prize package, while all cars will vie for prizes of $10 to $25. The school pride floats, for the Prescott and Nevada school districts, will compete for $100, $50 and $25.
The car category will also consist of the fair queen and contestants for this year’s title.
