The Texarkana Chapter of Alzheimer’s Alliance held a fundraiser Saturday at the Texas A & M campus in Texarkana.  Local residents raised money by asking for pledges to support them rappeling off the multi-story A & M building.  Locally, Jack Gathright of Hope and his son Gary of Texarkana (a graduate of Hope High) took part in the fundraising and both rappelled off the building.  Jack raised $1,200 for his effort.  Most of us will look at the picture of Jack on the edge of the building and our heart will beat a little fast!  We know the Gathrights, like many of us, have been touched by this terrible disease.  We applaud the fearless efforts of Jack and Gary to fight alzheimer’s!
