Workplace Safety Stop the Bleed, CPR, and AED

HOPE- Wadley Reginal Medical Center of Hope and Pafford EMS teamed up on Thursday, October 3 at Hempstead Hall to host a “Stop the Bleed/Hands on CPR, and Stroke Signs” work place safety course. Shelby Brown with Wadley Medical welcomed guests, followed by Dr. Khalid Malik who is the Wadley Stroke Program Medical Director who spoke on stroke awareness. Sarah Krudwig with Wadley and John Gray with Pafford EMS, showed how to stop bleeding. Hands on CPR was taught by Sher Fomby and Leigh Ann Scates. John Gray then gave step by step instructions on how to use an AED. Pafford donated an AED for the event, the AED was won by Rowe Industries. After the course each business walked away with a supply box that included gloves, gauze, and a tourniquet.
