Mrs. Shirley Kay Hood, age 68 of Hope/Crossroad Community passed away, Friday, October 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 11, 1951 in Hope, Arkansas to Newton and Pearl Mitchell Rosenbaum. Shirley was of the Christian Faith and retired from banking. She is predeceased by her parents.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, working with flowers, camping and fishing. She will definitely be missed by her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Joe “BJ” Hood, two daughters: Pam (Mickey) Stout of Hope, Arkansas, Patricia Hood Rowe of Ozan, Arkansas and son Joe (Becky) Hood of Crossroads Community, seven grandchildren: Ryan Stout, Ashley Stout Sears, Kyle Rowe, Kolby Rowe, Natalie Hood Halbert, Courtney Hood and Emily Hood, eight great-grandchildren: Grayson, Aniston, Ellie, Anna Leiye, Zander, Mollie, Carter and Everleigh, three sisters: Rosa M. Byers of Plano, TX, Lucille (Gene) Howard of Shreveport, LA and Virginia (Charles) Hawley of Crossroads Community and her brother Garland Rosenbaum of Hope, Arkansas.
Funeral service, 2:00pm, Monday, October 14, 2019 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Neil Ridling and Bro. Charles Hawley officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Westmoreland Cemetery in the Crossroads Community. Arrangements are with BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
