Cast Iron Cooking At Washington

Historic Washington State Park took advantage of the new fall weather to host a cast iron cooking workshop on October 12th.  The workshop featured cooking with cast iron skillets and pots over an open fire.  Shelia Ballard and Brian Williams conducted the workshop.  Some of the items they prepared included a ground beef and potato dish, biscuits, and pie with strawberries.  One of the advantages to participating in such workshops is the participants get to enjoy the dishes that were cooked.  Here the participant are shown enjoying those dishes.  Another workshop is scheduled for last month.  For information call the park at 983-2684.
