Spaghetti supper a success

PRESCOTT – Prior to Friday night’s game between the Curley Wolves and Camden Harmony Grove, the Rotary Club hosted a chicken spaghetti supper.

The meal was held in the cafeteria of Prescott Junior High School from 4-7 p.m. It was slow going at first as few customers came in the initial hour. However, after people began getting off work, things picked up. Overall, the club members sold 150 tickets at $10 each for the meal.

One lucky person also went home with a battery-powered leaf blower.

Bo Young, club president, said the supper was to raise money for the club’s scholarship program and local charitable projects. She said the club will be participating in the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade and will have a booth at the Nevada County Depot and Museum when the historic train comes through on Nov. 11-12.

If possible, she added, the club will do gift boxes for the needy and is planning a membership drive in the near future.
