Doyle Brewer

Doyle Brewer, age 65, of Hope, Arkansas passed away Monday, November 4th, 2019 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born February 11th, 1954 in Mena, Arkansas to Bert and Ethel Hughes Brewer.

He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Donna May Brewer; two sons, Dustin Brewer of Hope, AR and Daulton Brewer (Samantha) of Stamps, AR and grandchildren Abigail, George, Bernice, and Henry Brewer; two sisters, Faye Miner of Springhill, AR and Joyce Martin of Rowlett, TX, one brother, Johnny Brewer of Canton, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and truly countless extended family and friends.

Doyle graduated with a degree in finance and business management from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR. He spent 36 years in the banking industry, his last position being from 1976-2009 at First National Bank of Hope, AR. Since then, he has worked in broadcast media in community journalism and sportscasting for KTSS TV. And then became a true entrepreneur pursuing multiple business ventures with his wife and sons, including commercial property management, moving equipment rental, children’s entertainment, and even bail bonds. Most recently, he was aspiring to become a licensed insurance agent.

Doyle made it his life’s purpose to serve his fellow man in whatever he was doing and wherever he was doing it. He was an active deacon and assistant treasurer for Garrett Memorial Baptist Church. He also was a teacher and trainer for people who wanted to achieve biblical financial freedom. He also loved to be a prayer warrior and financial supporter of local and foreign missions. He loved the Lord. And he tried to love others the way Jesus loves them. And he wanted them to know the Lord as their Savior. He lived this out in the way he loved and served others.

With his heart for service, it was only natural that he find a place in a local civic organization. With the motto ‘We Serve,’ it was the local Hope Lions Club that won his favor and 40+ years of cheerful, selfless service. He held many offices as a Hope Lion, including but not limited to Club Treasurer, Lion Tamer, Tail Twister, Club Historian, Club President, and then at the regional and state level as Zone Chairman District Governor, and Council Chairman. Finally, he had most recently been serving as the Hope Lions Club Secretary for the last 3 years. He achieved multiple honors and recognitions as a Hope Lion, including multiple awards for Perfect Attendance, Club Excellence, The Dalstrom Award for Service, Melvin Jones Fellow, and Lion of the Year. But to hear Doyle tell it, he was not that important. But he loved being a Lion and was proud of everything that stood for.

He truly did just love to serve and love on people. If someone was in need, he would do what he could to help them. If all he could offer was a smile and a word of encouragement, then he would gladly give them that. He did this for his closest family and friends, but also for those he barely knew. He loved his family and friends, he dearly loved his wife and ALL his kids (biological and otherwise), and adored his grandkids with all his heart, and served his fellow man. This was his legacy.
