Big turnout for Christmas parade Christmas on Square
PRESCOTT – This year’s Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade was one of the biggest in years.
The parade was followed by Christmas on the Square at the Nevada County Courthouse with the Prescott High School Jazz Band, Bright Beginnings Day Care and children from First Baptist singing carols.
The parade featured 31 floats and went from the Hmilton-Blakely Senior Adult Center to the courthouse, which was awash with holiday lighting.
As always, Santa was the highlight of the parade and Christmas on the Square. Children flocked into the courthouse to visit with St. Nick and let him know what they want for Christmas this year.
The streets were packed with people watching the parade and to be on hand for Christmas on the Square. In addition, members of the Prescott Junior Auxiliary were on hand with cookies and hot chocolate. The weather was nearly perfect for the event with temperatures in the 50s.
