ROSSTON – As has been the tradition for years, the Nevada School District’s music program hosted a Christmas program for the district’s patrons.

The gym was packed with families and friends, all looking forward to the show.

Students from kindergarten through the sixth grade sang, while the beginning and advanced bands performed.

The program began with the sixth grade, and worked its way down to kindergarten, performing “Jingle Bell Rock”. This was followed by the fifth grade’s rendition of “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree”. The fourth grade students sang, “Go Tell it on the Mountain”, while the third grade did “Deck the Halls”. “Jingle Bells” was the song sang by the second graders, with the first graders, quite appropriately, performing “All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth.” Kindergarten students wrapped up the singing portion with “We Wish you a Merry Christmas”.

The begging band followed, performing “Good King Wencesclas”, Jolly Old St. Nick”, and “Jingle Bells”.

“Jingle Bells” was the dominant theme, especially for the advanced band as all three songs had a “Jingle Bells” theme. First came “Jingle Bones”, followed by “Bells on Bob-Tail Ringing”, “Jingle Jumble” and, finally, “Santa’s Midnight Sleigh Ride”.

All of the students sane “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.
