Ribbon Cutting held for CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic
After breaking ground in February earlier this year, the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic is finally celebrating their grand opening! The Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, December 17. The new family medicine coin is located at the south-west corner of the intersection of Peck Circle and Julia Street.
Mark Driscoll welcome the community to the newly finished facility. He also introduced the operations team that consists of; Director-Ed Bertels, Regional Manger-Sharon Cooks, and Clinic Manager Monica Eaves.
Dr. Scott Smith who is the medicine physician and Senior Vice President for CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, and institute chair for primary care for CHRISTUS Health stated “the clinic exists solely for the benefit of the community CHRISTUS Health exists to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
Mike Onuoha who serves as the Manager of Spiritual Care asked us to join him in prayer overt he facility and its staff. He later went through the clinic and blessed each of the rooms and staff members.
Dr. Bret Bennett who has been a Family Physician in Hope for the past 4 and a half years who wanted to practice in a small rural community like Magnolia where he grew up. Dr. Bennett did his residency in Texarkana at UAMS where he also did rotations at St. Michael’s where is meet Dr. George Finely and Jason Rounds who serves as CEO of CHRISTUS St.Michaels both of who have been very supportive in the start of this clinic. Bennett then introduced Devin Shepard, NP and Allyson Hanson, MD.
Dr. Hanson stated “Coming back to Hope is something I always dreamed of doing, especially in a primary care capacity.” She went along to say “I love because its not just the community its my community; I live here and I know most of y’all.”
City Mayor, Steve Montgomery welcomed CHRISTUS Trinity to the Hope community.
