Guy Bobo

Guy Manning Bobo, 87, passed away on December 25, 2019. He was born in Spring Hill, Arkansas, on February 16, 1932. Guy was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, when he left the service with an honorable discharge. Guy married Nellie Virginia Nations in Hope, Arkansas, on January 15, 1955. They moved to Freeport, Texas, where Guy worked for the City of Freeport Water Dept. and Nellie worked for a shipping company. After residing on the Texas coast for several years, Guy and Nellie returned to Spring Hill, Arkansas, where they began poultry and cattle farming and raised their family. Guy was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. He was ordained and served as a deacon for many years.

Guy was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty years, Nellie Nations Bobo; parents, Briant and Bertha Bobo; and infant daughter, Joan.

Guy is survived by his children: Cheryl Shaw and husband, Nelson, Texarkana, Arkansas; Doug Bobo and wife, Holly; Jerita Wylie and husband, Stacy, Spring Hill, Arkansas. He was Papaw Guy to: Cody Collins, Katelyn Collins, Sara Bobo, Dori Bobo, Webb Bobo, Adam Wylie, Austin Wylie, Andrew Wylie, and great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by a host of extended family.

The family expresses great appreciation for the host of caregivers loving and supporting Guy over the last eight years in dementia care.
