
WASHINGTON – Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson will be on hand in Washington for the formal dedication of the James Black School of Bladesmithing.
The dedication will be at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 17. In addition, there will be a formal dedication of the Arkansas No. 1 Bowie knife, as well as an exhibition of the Historic No. 1 Bowie knife.
Other activities going on during the dedication will be the history of the Bowie knife at 11 a.m., a cutting competition at 1 p.m. and the ceremonial firing of the first forge at 3:30 p.m.
There is no cost to attend and the public is invited.
