New Years Resolutions

Starting the first full week of 2020 is the best way to start a new resolution for the year! Weather it be going back to college, getting a new job, or joining the gym, the best time to start is now! It takes two months or 66 days to create a new habit. Starting now Monday, January 6, 2020 through Thursday, March 12, 2020 work on accomplishing your New Year’s Resolution. To help you stick to your New Year’s Resolutions we have created a list of tips to help you along the way!

  • Make your New Year’s Resolutions realistic! Start off with smaller goals, then work your way up to bigger goals.
  • Start by writing your resolutions and goals down on paper and putting it where you can see it each morning. Decorate it, use bold colors, make it stand out to you, so that it’s something you enjoy seeing each morning!
  • Don’t be scared to share with your friends and family, they will be your biggest supporters and motivators throughout the year. They will help keep you on track with your goals and they may even join you.
  • Record and keep track of your progress! It’s okay to brag on yourself for losing the extra pounds or quitting that bad habit. Don’t be afraid to talk about your goals and what you are doing to accomplish them. Post your progress on Facebook or other social media for the world to see, take pride in your progress.
  • Don’t be afraid to reward yourself along the way, our brains are used to having a “reward” for each action that we take. By rewarding yourself along the way, you feel better about your accomplishments and have more motive to continuing forward with your goals.
  • Even if you “fail” at one of your goals, don’t give it up just start where you stopped. It is hard to create a new lifestyle for yourself when you’ve become adjusted to one already. Goals are made to for us to learn from and work towards, it’s okay to struggle to get to where you want to be.
