The Hempstead County Quorum Court has scheduled a special election to be held concurrently with the primary election. This special election will ask the voters of Hempstead County to grant a one cent sales and use tax for the purpose of converting the former Farmers Bank and trust building into a new courthouse and provide funds for the removal of the current courthouse if such is deemed necessary. The current courthouse has served the county for over 80 years. The Quorum Court and the elected officials of the county invite the citizens to a seris of informational meetings on the election. The schedule of the meetings are:

JAN 28 Hempstead Hall
JAN 30 Spring Hill Fire Station
FEB 3 Fulton Community Center
FEB 11 McNab Community Center
FEB 13 Southeast Fire Station
FEB 18 Blevins City Hall
FEB 25 Washington Fire Station
All meetings will be at 6pm with the exception of the Fulton meeting which will be at 6:30pm
