Prescott/Nevada County Complete Count Committee Meets

By Mark Keith, 01/31/20 12:22 PM

The “Complete Count Committee” met Thursday at the Nevada County Library in Prescott to discuss how to get an accurate count in the 2020 census.  Nevada County, like most Southwest Arkansas counties, is believed to be undercounted in past censuses.  The is trying to find ways to let the public know how important an accurate census is.  This is the second meeting according to chair Mary Godwin.

Census forms will be mailed to residences in mid-March.  Those who respond to the forms (which are simple to fill out) will be finished with their part of the count but households who don’t respond to the forms or online at census2020.gov will get an in-person visit.  The census is is involved in hiring up to 40 people in Nevada County and interested parties can apply on the website.  If you have questions about the census you can call the EDO office in Prescott at 887-6208.
