Bench Dedicated At Hope Animal Shelter In Honor of Jo Ann Sandlin

City officials, Hope for Paws volunteers, family members and more gathered at the Hope Animal Shelter Friday to remember Hope for Paws volunteer Jo Ann Sandlin.  Sandlin died several months ago due to injuries from a car accident.  Sandlin’s family had asked if they could put a bench at the Hope Animal Shelter in tribute to her and city officials agreed.  The bench, which pays tribute to Sandlin’s nickname “Pound Granny” was built by local artisan Jack Easterling.

   Those speaking at the ceremony included Hope Animal Control Officer Tammy Austin, Carol Robinson of Hope For Paws, Sandlin’s daughter Monika, City Manager Catherine Cook, Police Chief J.R. Wilson,and Mayor Steve Montgomery.
