ROSSTON – March’s meeting of the Rosston City Council was short and to the point Monday night.
The council corrected a mistake it made during its February meeting when an ordinance was approved without being read. Monday night proper procedures were followed and the ordinance was read before being voted on. The ordinance is for the city’s latest water project and customers of the Rosston Water Department will see their bills going up 70 cents per 1,000 gallons used.
Otherwise, the only thing on the agenda was congratulations to the Nevada Blue Jays for making it to the finals of the AA State Basketball Tournament. The Jays will be playing for the state title at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Hot Springs Convention Center. Rosston Mayor Dale Quarles lauded Coach Bobby Mullins for the work he’s done with the team in getting it to the finals for the second time in a row. Quarles said regardless of Thursday’s outcome, the city will honor the team for its accomplishments.
