The John Cain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Thursday at Historic Washington’s Williams Tavern restaurant.  The group had their business meeting there then moved on member Mary McPherson’s house at Cross Roads to see an exhibit of quilts made by McPherson’s late mother.

DAR Regent Claudette Wilson says the organization is a group that tries to keep history alive.  She said to qualify for the organization one must have ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War.  She said that covers most US natives.  Wilson said new members are welcome.  Anyone who would like to learn more about the local chapter can contact Wilson at 983-2809.
