Four Tops Cancelled, Glenn Miller Rescheduled At Hempstead Hall

Due to an abundance of caution being paid to the situation surrounding COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus pandemic), Southwest Arkansas and Hempstead Hall will have to make some changes to the remaining shows for our 2019-2020 Performing Arts Series.
The SWAAC Executive Board met earlier this morning and unanimously voted on the following two items:
·        At this time, the Four Tops show set for May 2 has been cancelled. Refunds will be issued within the coming days.
·        The Glenn Miller Orchestra performance previously set for May 28 is postponed at this time. If a future date is set, you will be notified via email and our social media outlets. No refunds are being issued for this show until a make-up date is announced.
In addition to the two items above, Hempstead Hall has rescheduled TEDxUAHT for August 15, 2020 and postponed the movie “Judy” (scheduled for March 20). If we need to reschedule or postpone any additional events, we will notify you via email, our social media outlets and through hempsteadhall.com.
From UAHT:
UAHT will continue to operate campus next week as normal as possible with special attention to our campus safety protocols. Again, we urge everyone to be committed to your social separation practices over the weekend. UAHT will be monitoring the situation. In addition to the actions announced previously, the following actions are announced for UAHT campuses to be proactive in our safety and operations planning:
·        UAHT will continue to work directly with our public school districts to insure continuity and safety for shared students. The Governor and Secretary Key (AR Department of Ed) reiterated this afternoon that Arkansas would keep its schools open as long as possible and that they are the safest place for our students;
·        UAHT will continue to track CDC guidelines as they are modified and clarified with regard to factors that would suggest any campus closings; and
·        UAHT, based on the Governor’s “commonsense” advice this afternoon, will continue to strictly limit the use of Hempstead Hall and all our other meeting facilities by outside groups for gathering to mitigate the introduction and spread of potential illness on our campus
At this time, Hempstead Hall has suspended all events through March 31 and we are making daily assessments about future events.
If you have any questions about the status of your organization’s event, please contact John Gladden at 870.722.8567 or john.gladden@uaht.edu.
All other questions can be directed to Amanda Lance, Director of Hempstead Hall at 870.722.8565 or amanda.lance@uaht.edu.
Thank you for being patient with us during this unprecedented time.
