PRESCOTT – Today will be the last day the Nevada County Courthouse will be open to the public.

Due to the threat of the coronavirus, the courthouse will be closed to the public, except by appointment. County residents can conduct most of their business over the phone and many transactions can be dealt with online. The courthouse will be open during it’s regular hours, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Those making appointments will be allowed in and must leave once their business has been taken care of.

Nevada County Judge Mark Glass announced this edict at a special meeting of the Nevada County Quorum Court Tuesday evening. A list of phone numbers has been provided to help county residents. These numbers are:

County Judge – 870-887-3115

Office of Emergency Services – 870-871-2363

County Clerk – 870-887-2719
