Virus Leads to Fine Payment Changes
Effective Wednesday, March 25, the front window and front lobby of the Hempstead County Detention Center in Hope will be closed to the public, according to Sheriff James Singleton. All fine payments may be made online at paymyfine.com or credit card payments can be made over the phone by calling 870-777-6727. The Sheriff said, “We will not take any in-person fines until we receive further guidance from the Health Department and State Officials.”
If you have the correct change you may put the correct amount in an envelope addressed to the “Attention of Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office” and drop it in the night deposit which is located just as you enter the Detention Center’s entry doors at the Hope Police Department fine payment window. A receipt for the payment will then be mailed.
“I apologize for any inconvenience that you may have during these unprecedented times; our goal is to keep our employees and the Citizens of Hempstead County Safe. Please keep our Deputies and Police Officers in your prayers.” Sheriff Singleton added.
