Governor calls special session

LITTLE ROCK – Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has called for the 92nd General Assembly in for a special session today to create a rainy day fund for the coronavirus and transfer money into the fund.

In addition, the session will see the House and Senate confirm gubernatorial appointees and pay the per diem expenses of the House and Senate for the session.

The state will also be extending its tax deadline to July 15 because of the virus. This corresponds with the federal governments change for taxes as well.
