PRESCOTT – The American Library Association (ALA) recommends that public libraries should leave WiFi networks on and available to the public during closures due to COVID-19.

Public K-12 Schools in Arkansas are closed to on-site instruction for the remaining school year. Allowing Wi-Fi will be available in the parking lots will provide a key resource for students’ and families’ ability to complete school activities during this time.

Our current crisis demands extraordinary measures. As most states and the federal government declare states of emergency, the library and other public facilities have closed temporarily to support critical social distancing efforts. Our top priority and concern are the health and safety of our library staff and the diverse communities we serve.
