PRESCOTT – Most of the damage from Sunday’s storm occurred in and around Prescott.

Nevada County Judge Mark Glass said there were a lot of trees down in the county, but the main damage was in Prescott and an area within an eight-mile radius. The furthest the damage occurred down south, he added, were trees down past Morris Church on Cale Road. There were also trees down in most of the smaller communities.

Glass said the electric companies will be the hardest hit by the storm because of the outages and overtime they’ll have to pay. County crews went to work to clear roads once the storm ended and worked till 1:30 a.m. Monday. They returned to work after 7 a.m. Monday and got all the roads clear. However, Glass said, the debris will have to be moved further from the roads in some places.

In addition, graders have been out where it’s dry enough, blading roads to make them passable. He said the wind is helping, but there were a lot of washouts.
