HOPE – Hope Parks and Recreation has announced several facilities updates.

Public facilities will still remain closed for the time being. This includes but not limited to the community centers, arena, softball fields, playgrounds, basketball courts, etc. The parks are still open for walkers, fishing at Huckabee Lake and the use of pavilions. They ask you keep practicing social distancing and no gatherings larger than 10.

Hope Baseball and Softball Association is still planning on having the leagues as soon as facilities open up. Season is projecting to start at the end of May, but this depends on decisions made in order to protect our community from COVID-19.

“Unfortunately the City of Hope Public Pool will not open for the season this summer. This is a decision that has been difficult to make and sadly not opening is the best option for this year.”

There will be no summer programs this summer at Fair Park. “We received direction from the Arkansas Department of Health that summer camps are not advisable this year due to COVID-19. This decision will be re-evaluated May 31st, if we are given the go ahead to do summer programs we will try and plan a couple for the month of July/August. We look forward to these programs every year and are saddened we can not provide these for the community this year.”

“We want to thank you as a community for the patience and understanding in this unforeseen time period. Just know we are doing our best to keep the park grounds up for everyone to enjoy when we can fully open back up. We love to serve our community the best way possible and can’t wait till everyone can join us at the park!”
