Hexion’s Hope Facility Recognized

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Two programs and 13 facilities at Hexion Inc. were recently named Responsible Care® award winners and honored for excellence in waste minimization and energy efficiency by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). That includes their Hope operation at Oakhaven.

“Hexion’s longstanding commitment to sustainability and safety continues to drive results,” said Stephanie Couhig, Senior Vice President, Environmental, Health and Safety, Hexion.  “Being honored with these two awards and having our facilities recognized are reflective of Hexion’s continued commitment to improving operations and enhancing our safety and sustainability efforts.”

Couhig added: “We’re also pleased to report that our Occupational Illness and Injuries Rate (OIIR) dropped to 0.51 in 2019, which was our lowest rate in 10 years and another example of our improved safety performance.”

The ACC announced the Hexion awards at its virtual 2020 Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference & Expo:

Facility Safety Award – ACC presents these awards to member companies with significant achievements in employee health and safety performance. In total, 13 of the Company’s sites received the ‘Excellent’ distinction, including the Hope facility.
