ROSSTON- With one item on the agenda, the May meeting of the Rosston City Council didn’t last long.

The only item of business for the council to discuss was the approval of a resolution for the loan for water system improvements. The resolution states Rosston will be working with the state’s revolving loan program for part of the funding, with the remainder to come from a grant. Under terms of the resolution the city agrees with the Environmental Information Document and Facilities Plan and authorizes the information to be submitted to the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; and will construct, operate and maintain the system in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Aside from the approval of the resolution, Rosston Mayor Dale Quarles urged everyone to be safe, keep their distance from one another and encourage others to do the same as the coronavirus pandemic is “nowhere near gone.”
