Tubbs Promoted to VP at Cottey College

NEVADA, MISSOURI – Cottey College has announced the promotion of T.J. Tubbs to vice president of administration and finance. He is currently the associate vice president for facilities and safety. Tubbs will assume his new position on June 1. Tubbs is a former physical plant director at the University of Arkansas Hope/Texarkana.

“We are so pleased to have TJ as our new vice president,” said Dr. Jann Weitzel, President of the College. “TJ has done an excellent job with the physical plant and has all of the qualities we wanted in the VPAF position. He has been serving as the co-interim vice president for the last four months and has been excellent in that position.”

“I am honored and thrilled to serve in such a meaningful role at Cottey,” said Tubbs. “It is rare to find such a talented and committed group of people who strive daily to fulfill the mission of the institution. I look forward to the challenges of this position and working with my colleagues to achieve the goals of the College.”

Tubbs originally hails from Texarkana, Arkansas. He holds a Master of Science in Operation Management and is completing his work towards a doctorate in organizational leadership and will be enrolling in the Harvard Principles of Finance Graduate Certificate program.
