Farmer’s Market officially opens
PRESCOTT – Friday morning was the official opening of the Nevada County Farmer’s Market.
Because of the near-constant rain since the first of the year, there wasn’t a lot of farmers on hand. However, those who showed up offered plenty of onions, squash and potatoes. One man brought a few early tomatoes, but they didn’t last long.
Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, and her assistant, Angel Barlow, were on hand making popcorn for customers who showed up. Customers didn’t flock to the market, but there was a steady stream and nobody went home empty-handed.
