Mr. John R. Johnson Sr., age 98 of Hope, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his home. Mr. John was born on February 6,1922 in Graysonia, AR to Jewell and Minnie Wilder Johnson. He was a member of the Hope Church of Christ and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard-working, self-employed plumber whom enjoyed his time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby Johnson, daughter Linda Gail Johnson, granddaughter Heather Lavender, sister Neoma Haggard, and brother Marvin Johnson.

Survivors include, one son; John R. Johnson Jr., wife Karen of Hope, AR, one daughter; Connie Lavender of Hope, one sister; Annie Mae Martindale, one brother; Gene Johnson, wife Sue, four grandchildren, Leland Lavender, Lilac Lavender, John R. Johnson III, Eric Ray Johnson, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Public viewing will be 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main Street, Hope, AR, 71801.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 15, 2020 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Mr. Barry Haynes and Mr. James Hastings officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Hope.
