Freddy McCulley

Freddy Joe McCulley, 72, went to his Heavenly home last weekend. He was born in Hope, Arkansas on November 9, 1947 to Joe and Gussie McCulley.

Freddy was a baptized member of the First Baptist Church in Hope. As an Eagle Scout of Troop 91, he had a helping heart for the Boy Scouts. He served his nation in the United States Marine Corps as a Cpl. in the Honor Guard and active member of the American Legion Post in Texarkana. Afterwards, he served Hope and Hempstead County as a member of the Hope Police Dept. and deputy on Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office. Most will remember Fred from his 25-year career at UPS where he loved interacting with the people on his routes. He retired and poured the remainder of his time and love upon his children and grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his four daughters, Suzanne & Tracy Gathright of Nashville, granddaughter Gabrielle, grandson William and granddaughter Tracey; Dana & Kevin Kelley of Little Rock, grandson Zack, and granddaughter Kara; Elizabeth & Mark Elliot of Texarkana, granddaughter Cherish, grandson Jaxston; Michelle Owen of Texarkana, grandson Gavin; one sister, Betty Loe; one brother, Bill McCulley & Anke .

Graveside service will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 5:30pm in Memory Gardens Cemetery where his service will be honored, his life will be celebrated, and his memory will be cherished until we are reunited by our Lord and Savior. Jerry Crane will officiate the service under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Hope.
