Hope Man Retires After 55 Years With The Same Company

A Hope man retired Friday after a 55 year career with the same company. Harry Hickey went to work June 7th, 1965 for Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company at Emmet in the pipeline division He spent approximately two years in that capacity and in 1967 went into the pipeline construction part of the company in North Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. When the company stopped its own construction, Hickey went back to Emmet operations and became a pipeline welder. In this capacity, he continued in pipeline maintenance. Hickey became Superintendent for the Emmet operations in 1980 and continued in this capacity about sixteen years. When the company went to the “team” concept without immediate supervision, Hickey went back into the team and continued in pipeline operations and track hoe operator. He continued in this capacity until last Friday. Over the years, the company changed names several time and he retired as part of Enable Midstream Partners. A virtual retirement party was held and the president of Enable said “Thank you for your work and dedication to the company. More importantly, thank you for the impact on the people you’ve touched these fifty-five years. Your example and influence will be with us for a long time. Enjoy your reitrement!”
