Saratoga Man Sought on Drug Charges

SARATOGA – 8th North Task Force Agents have obtained warrants for Possession of Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, 3 Counts of Felony Drug Paraphernalia, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, andPossession of Firearms by Certain Persons foror Jeremy Brian Smith age 39, of Saratoga.

Last Friday, August 7th, agents of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections (ACC) went to the residence of Jeremy Smith, near Saratoga. ACC agents allegedly located a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia related to the distribution of methamphetamine in a bedroom that is believed to be Smith’s. ACC agents contacted the 8th North Task Force to assist in the investigation. 8NTF agents went to the residence.

During the course of the investigation, agents determined that Jeremy Smith is the primary suspect in the case. Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Smith and are currently seeking to arrest him.

Anyone with information of Smith’s whereabouts are encouraged to call the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office. 870-777-6727 or your local law enforcement agency.

“Additionally, anyone found to be assisting Smith with avoiding law enforcement could be charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution,” Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton said. “We ask the public that if you encounter Smith, do not attempt to contact him but to call your local law enforcement officials.”
