Hempstead County Quorum Court Courthouse Committee Meets

The Hempstead County Quorum Court Courthouse Committee met Tuesday at the present courthouse.  County Judge Jerry Crane said the meeting was to focus specifically on the new HVAC system for the new courthouse as well as furniture.  The Judge said the number one thing the committee is looking at is “saving money and making sure we’re doing the right thing”.  Judge Crane said the HVAC system in the new courthouse will be new and will conform to code.  He noted the project is still progressing on schedule but COVID-19 has delayed some things ordered for the courthouse including the new HVAC system.  He said if the project does run a little late it won’t be much past January when the county can move in the building.
