Guernsey – There were no reports of injuries Saturday night when Amtrak’s Texas Eagle passenger train struck a tree on the tracks in Hempstead County during the storms that moved through southwest Arkansas. The train was running northbound on Union Pacific’s main line south of Guernsey. Later after making its stop at the Hope Depot, Amtrak’s Twitter feed said the train was delayed again due to debris on the tracks north of Hope. When finally underway, Amtrak said the Eagle was running 3 hours and 15 minutes late. The train had departed San Antonio, Texas Saturday morning.
