HOPE – The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce has announced COVID-18 modified plans for one of its Christmas holiday activities:

“This is the year of unexpected changes – right? The chamber is encouraging you to join us as we put a few changes in place for our Window Décor Contest during the most joy-filled time of the year! We are adjusting our open house plans (due to C-19 restrictions), so let’s have FUN and give the community something extra-special to enjoy!

For three nights (November 19 – 21) from 6:00 -10:00 PM each night, let’s light up the night with Sights and Sounds of the Season! First National Bank of Tom Bean has graciously agreed to sponsor the contest (again) this year! 1st – 3rd place winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 24.

We will invite the community to be our judges this year! The voting will happen in stores! Participating stores will give you the voting card (with rules) and a list of all businesses participating in the contest. (Voting cards will be in stores the week of November 9-13.)

Rules of the contest:
1) Window décor must be in place no later than Thursday, November 19 at 5:00 PM
2) Stick to the theme “Whoville in Hope” to make it a fun Christmas for Everywho! 😊
3) Lights are a must! Music would be extra-special!
4) Sidewalk décor will be included this year! Ideas: Whoville tree! Betty Lou Who & her daughter Cindy holding a sign of HOPE! Grinch stealing packages! You get the picture…have FUN!

The contest is open for any/all businesses that participate in Christmas Open House, which will be Saturday, November 21 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Please reach out to the chamber at 870.777.3640 or email hopemelonfest@yahoo.com to let us know that you are going to join in the fun! Thank you!”
