October 12, 2020, Hope, AR, The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce has planned their Virtual Annual Meeting that will air on SWARK.Today on Monday, October 19 at 7:00 PM. The theme of the evening is Building Community Building Hope.

The meeting & banquet was postponed in March due to COVID-19. Therefore, the chamber partnered with SWARK.Today in order to video all of the program participants, so the community could view the meeting in its entirety on SWARK’s website.

The chamber is hopeful the community will set aside time to view the virtual meeting, because this will be the time to hear the announcement of the 2020 Citizen, Educator, Business & Nonprofit of the Year! Every area of the typical meeting will be covered minus the delicious banquet food that would have been catered by Amigo Juan.

Therefore, we are encouraging everyone to purchase dinner from a local restaurant and take a selfie (or a group pic) using the hashtags #blameitoncovid and #hhccgoesvirtual. Show us your selfies and tag Hope Chamber of Commerce (as it is on Facebook) & SWARK Today. The pictures will be shared and will also be shown during the 2021 Annual Meeting during the annual review moments.

SWARK.Today worked long hours to create a virtual evening for our community that will not disappoint, stated Beckie Moore, chamber director. In joining the virtual annual meeting, you will hear about Thrive Hempstead County, our 5-Year Strategic Plan, thanks to the presentation from Mayor Steve Montgomery. Brian Lee with The First National Bank of Tom Bean will share news pertaining to the top donors in last year’s United Way Campaign. The community will enjoy beautiful music & much, much more throughout the virtual meeting. We are looking forward to seeing your pictures with hashtags!”
