Nevada County election results

PRESCOTT – There was only one surprise in the 2020 General Election in Nevada County and that was the number of votes cast.

Overall, 3,385 votes were cast in the county, or roughly 60 percent of registered voters went to the polls, voted early or submitted absentee ballots for this election.

In the old days, elections were community events with people gathering at the courthouse waiting to see changes posted on a chalkboard as the different precincts came in and the ballots were counted. There was a party atmosphere. For the 2020 election there was no fanfare, just the poll workers and election officials doing their job to get the ballots tabulated with a computer.

Poll workers were kept busy, but not overwhelmed as a large number of people voted early. Still, those working the polls dealt with a steady stream of voters, getting hit hardest when the polls first opened, at lunch and again after 5 p.m. when most people got off work.

With 100 percent of the precinct’s in the results are as follows:

US PRESIDENT

Howie Hawkins: 26 votes, four early votes and 22 cast on Nov. 3.

Brock Pierce: 7 votes, three early, one absentee and three on Nov. 3.

C.L. Gammon: 0 votes.

Jo Jorgenson: 8 votes, three early, two absentee and three on Nov. 3.

Gloria La Riva: 3 votes, two early, one Nov. 3.

Brian Carroll: 3 votes, two early, one on Nov. 3.

Donald J. Trump: 2,133 votes, 1,130 early, 145 absentee and 858 on Nov. 3.

Kanye West: 5 votes, one early, one absentee, three on Nov. 3

Joseph R. Biden: 1,076 votes, 627 early, 148 absentee and 301 on Nov. 3.

Phil Collins: 29 votes, 17 early, one absentee and 11 on Nov. 3.

Rogue “Rocky” De La Fuente: 8 votes, seven early, one on Nov. 3.

John Richard Myers: 14 votes, nine early, five on Nov. 3.

Don Blankenship: 46 votes, 15 early, one absentee and 30 on Nov. 3.

Ricky Dale Harrington, Jr.: 933 votes, 522 early, 120 absentee and 291 Nov. 3.

Tom Cotton: 2,292 votes, 1,193 early, 154 absentee and 945 Nov. 3.

Frank Gilbert: 78 votes, 34 early, 4 absentee and 40 Nov. 3.

William H. Hanson: 1,068 votes, 615 early, 138 absentee, 315 Nov. 3.

Bruce Westerman: 2,178 votes, 1,155 early, 145, absentee and 878 Nov. 3.

Charles Beckham: 1,529 votes, 794 early, 90 absentee, 655 Nov. 3.

Bruce Maloch: 1,269 votes, 706 early, 149 absentee, 414 Nov. 3.
