PRESCOTT – Members of the Prescott Junior Auxiliary gathered at Curry’s Ministry Saturday morning to help with the monthly community feed.

The November meal consisted of fried chicken, corn, salad and a dessert. The chicken came from Super 1 in Hope, while the JA members made the salads. In all 150 meals were prepared for the day.

The JA is made up of 20-30 women who meet monthly to work and help those in the community, primarily children. The club decided to work with Ivory Curry this month as a way of giving back.

Curry said the JA and his ministry could partner in other areas as well, adding things have been limited by the coronavirus, which restricts what can be done. He said his ministry is working with Harbor House out of Magnolia and, next Saturday, weather permitting, will hold a seminar for young people on the dangers of alcohol and bullying. This meeting will be held in the parking lot at the ministry.

Business, Saturday, was brisk as people drove up for the meals. Curry acted as a delivery person and took meals to shut-ins.

Jamie Hillery, a member of the JA, said the club is in its second year and wants to become more visible in the community.
