Hope Kiwanis Holds Smoked Pork Butt Fundraiser

It has been a challenging year for our non-profit organizations.  Many fundraisers have been scrapped or greatly altered.  The Hope Kiwanis Club has experienced this.  They have not been able to have their annual smoked chicken dinner nor their pancake supper.  Kiwanian Brian Berry suggested a fundraiser selling smoked pork butts.  The club intended to smoke about fifty of these cuts of meat but demand led them to smoke 103 pork butts.  The club sold these simply by word of mouth.  The last batch were prepared for pickup at the HUB on Monday.  The Kiwanians who distributed the pork butts Monday included Jerry Prudent, Brian Berry, Chris Smith, and Bill Coffee.  The club expects to have the fundraiser again in the future.
