HOPE – As the Hope Public Schools moves forward into the Spring, 2020-2021 semester, parents have inquired about Spanish language translations of relevant announcements on the district’s websites.

HPS District English Language Coordinator Cari Winemiller notes the district attempts to keep important information bilingual on its websites.

“As the district ELL Coordinator, I am to ensure that students and families receive information in their native language as well as in English,” Winemiller said. “I hope the information included here will assist families and students.”

The application used by the district to populate all of its websites allows for language translation options in English and Spanish. The option is available under the languages button at the top right of each website page. All pages are currently set to English as the default language.

Use of the computer cursor to click on “English” opens the languages option for Ingles (English) and Spanish. Clicking on the “Spanish” option automatically translates the entire page and all associated content into Spanish.

The transition requires a few seconds to complete; and, once completed, can be left in the Spanish mode, which will automatically translate into Spanish everything added to the website by the district.
