Hope Officers “Pied”

By Staff, 12/14/20 2:43 PM

The Hope Police Department has been having a “friendly” competition to see who can raise the most to benefit the department’s “Santa Cop” program.  Two officers were scheduled to get pied although two others volunteered.  The original plan for the competition was for Chief Wilson, Lt. Courtney, Sgt. Oller, Cpl. Jones, and Cpl. Dean.  The top two officers people paid to see pied were Cpl. Justin Dean and Lt. Jimmy Courtney.   Lt. Courtney raised $1,841 for Santa Cop.   Mayor Steve Montgomery did the honors.  Hunter Halladay stood in for Sgt. Oller and did not get pied.  Cp. Jones and Chief Wilson “volunteered” to get pied and were good sports to do so.  The whole episode was played out via facebook live.
