Black History Month Event Rescheduled

HOPE – A Hope Public Schools Black History Month panel discussion video presentation set for Thursday, Feb. 18, has been rescheduled.

“Perspectives on a Sound: Black Music in Hope and SW Arkansas” will be presented via HPS video on Feb. 25. The panel for the discussion currently includes retired Hope Public Schools music educator Sandra Jones, former HPS bands director, jazz/contemporary music performer and HPS technology coordinator Jeff Madlock, Hope High School junior student Richard Ware, veteran Hope and southwest Arkansas radio journalist, newspaper publisher and Bluegrass musician Mark Keith, jazz/gospel/blues keyboardist and Hope native Allen Batts, and Carol Collins-Miles, president of the Scott Joplin Support Group, of Texarkana.

The video presentation will be available on the HPS website www.hpsdistrict.org online and other HPS social media. HPS Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart will host the presentation.
