PRESCOTT – While last week’s snow storm caused problems for a lot of local residents, some took time out from being housebound to have some fun. Others, though, had problems, especially some truckers.

According to Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver, all city departments pitched in and helped out where they could, working to  make things a little easier on residents. The city will be offering a deferred payment plan to those who experience extremely high utility bills next month, along with those who had pipes burst and are having to pay plumbers to make repairs.

Overall, though, he said Prescott came through the blizzard in good shape as people stepped up to help one another, and officers with the Prescott Police Department and Prescott Fire Department along with the Nevada County Rescue Unit made 300-400 trips taking essential workers to and from work,  while county employees brought tractors to help people get out of their driveways.
