Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church Spaghetti Supper Continues Until 7pm Tuesday
The parishioners of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church are nothing if not adaptable! The church is having it’s 63rd annual “Mardi Gras” spaghetti supper today (March 2nd) after having to postpone it twice before. The original meal was set for February 16th; however, a nine inch snow made travel hazardous and the church postponed it until the next week. Unfortunately, a boil water order caused the postponement of the dinner until March 2nd. This year’s event is “drive-through” only due to COVID restrictions but the church members have not let that stop them from serving their delicious spaghetti dinners. Not only does the meal draw the locals, our reporter ran into Stamps resident Larry Hovarter who had driven up from Lafayette County just to get some of the spaghetti.
Church member Vic Massenelli said the turnout at mid-afternoon was lower than the usual when the church offers an “eat in” option but he still called the turnout “very good”. Serving will continue until 7pm tonight. The church is located at Third and Walker and $10 tickets are available in the drive-through.
